Meri Maiya, I am ignorant of either the ways in which you should be worshipped or the mantras which should be chanted to your praise. I do not even know how to meditate upon you. I am illiterate, lazy and poor. It is due to these defects that I often commit errors while trying to worship you.
Meri Maiya, there is no greater sinner than me and there is none who can forgive sins like you. So, I am throwing myself at your mercy. Please do whatever you think is appropriate.

We can totally depend and call Meri Maiya as our true lifelong friend. SHE is a friend, with whom we can discuss everything. SHE gives us a sense of security with HER strong support and provides protection. SHE is a friend with whom we can share our joys and sorrows. !! Jai Mata Di !! (hide) According to granth Devipurana, sage Narada once asked Lord Shiva" I have always seen you all three gods Brahma, Vishnu, and yourself engaged in meditation. Who is that higher one, greater then you, that is the object of your adoration? We do not know anyone more worthy of worship than you. Lord Shiva told Narada " That primordial and eternal being is Parashakti. SHE is the Parabrahman herself. SHE it is that creates, maintains and destroys all the world. Though SHE is truly formless, SHE incarnates HERSELF as Parvati, Durga, Vaishno, Kalli and Saraswati............" According to granth Devibhagavata, the Meri Maiya HERSELF says: " There is only one reality and that is the truth. The truth and I are the same. In the same granth, Lord Vishnu admits that he is not a free being and that he only carries out the orders of Meri Maiya. If Brahma creates the world, Vishnu preserves it, and Shiva destroys it, it is only as machines - the one who motivates them is Meri Maiya, SHE is the Shakti. The gods, including Brahma, Vishnu, Maheshwara, are subject to dissolution. But Shakti remains for ever, SHE has neither a beginning nor an end. Shiva and Shakti are complimentary to each other. When Shiva is joined to Shakti he becomes capable of action. Were it not so he would be incapable of movement.
Think of a thousand lotuses blossoming all at once. Think of a thousand suns bursting all of a sudden in the sky. Such is HER beauty, such is HER radiance. The Sun and the Moon are HER eyes, the stars HER raiment and the green earth its hem. SHE is the colour of vermilion, of the sunset sky and of blood. SHE is also white as hams and the snow on the mountain Himalayas. SHE is in the laughter of women, in the wrath of warriors and in the tongues of flames of the funeral pyre. As Amba, SHE is benign like a mother sucking HER child, as, Tripura Sundari SHE is an enchantress unequalled in beauty, and as Kali SHE is terrible as death wearing a garland of skull; whereas SHE also incarnated HERSELF as Meri Maiya Vaishno Devi, who is as pure as a maiden and nothing can compare HER virgin powers. Though SHE is truly formless, now and then SHE incarnates HERSELF in different forms to destroy the evils of the world. In the second chapter of Durga Saptashati when Brahma told the gods that devil Mahishasur was given a boon of his death not except at hands of a maiden girl, all the gods prayed to the goddess to kill the demon. The gods then offered different articles to the goddess, those SHE bore in HER arms. The lion was offered by Himalayas Mountain for HER astride.
