This is the Second Darshan in Meri Maiya Vaishnodevi Yatra, where Meri Maiya gave HER divine Darhan to Shyamidasji, the fourth generation of Pandit Shridharji, whom Meri Maiya gave HER first Darshan in the Holy Cave.

Shyamdasji the great grand son of Pandit Shridharji stayed in a small village known as Numai, from where he used to walk all the way to Meri Maiya Darbar and perform Meri Maiya puja daily. He used to wake up at around 4.00 a.m. and walked his way through the Trikuta Mountains to the Holy Cave. This routine of his went on for 12 years and 9 months, when Meri Maiya pleased with his Bhakti gave him HER divine Darshan at this place.

Meri Maiya with HER Trident

In the olden days there used to be a walkway to Deva Mai. Legend has it that while Meri Maiya has HER abode in the Trikuta Mountain since Treta Yug (The second of the four eras as propounded by the Indian spiritual tradition), it is in Kalyug (the present era) that Meri Maiya stayed at Deva Mai in a small girl form and completed HER Tapasya (spiritual discipline and ascetic practices) of the human form.

This is a place where a statue of Meri Maiya is worshipped and it also hosts a Trident used by Meri Maiya. The Trident is worshipped too along with the statue and is available for Darshan to all Meri Maiya bhakts. The name of the place is on the name of one of Meri Maiya devotees, who stayed here observing spiritual discipline and worshipping Meri Maiya.
